Even though children are given nearly unfiltered access to the Internet, they receive no formal education on safety protocols or helpful ways to identify who they are engaging with. This workshop will highlight instances grooming and trafficking, of harm across multiple social media platforms and popular internet games like Roblox while pulling out the teachable moments to empower young learners. Our framework informs learners, particularly youth, about internet safety, character assessment, catfishing, and grooming. Together, we will create a strategic methodology that equips learners with pink and red flags to bear in mind when traveling the Internet and the real world.
